Mediation

.

Mediation is a consensual process of dispute resolution in which a third party mediator, appointed by the parties to the dispute, assists in the negotiated resolution of the dispute.

Gordon Gibb has a Master of Law degree from the University of Strathclyde and in 2013 became an accredited mediator for construction disputes. Gordon has past experience working as a joint mediator in a case that settled, without the need to move on to litigation, arbitration or adjudication.

There is a real attempt being made to move away from the adversarial ways of the past, and begin with mediation in order to avoid disputes. Mediation keeps control of disputes with the parties, and avoids the high costs associated with High Court litigation, arbitration and adjudication. Multi-party construction disputes can be dealt with quickly and effectively in mediation.
